Cultural Development Corporation's (CuDC) call for accepting 10-minute play submissions closed November 13, 2009. The Festival received more than 535 plays from 43 states. Over the next three months, a team of readers will narrow the pool to 18 diverse, creative, and innovative scripts to be presented during the Festival’s first week, from June 12–20, 2010. Selected scripts will be announced March, 1, 2010.

Full-Length Plays

Playwrights from the 2008 & 2009 Festivals will be invited to submit full-lengths plays for consideration for the 2010 Source Festival. Unsolicited play submissions will not be accepted.

Note: Playwrights are also eligible to apply for the Artistic Blind Date Program (see below for details).

DIRECTORS/DESIGNERS/ARTISTS OF ALL DISCIPLINES

Artistic Blind Dates

Application Deadline:
December 17, 2009

Artists from diverse disciplines — playwrights, filmmakers, choreographers, musicians and visual artists — will be teamed up to produce original performance pieces. They’ll unveil their one-of-a-kind productions during the second week of the Source Festival (June 21–28, 2010).

Up to 12 artists will be selected to go on Artistic Blind Dates. We’ll set them up (in groups of three) and they’ll spend approximately five months collaborating to create new work for the Festival. After each performance, the artists will engage the audience in a dialogue about their artistic process.

Individual artists of all disciplines may apply. Disciplines include (but are not limited to): dance, installation, film, literary arts, multidisciplinary, music, new media, performance art, playwriting, sound art, spoken word, storytelling, theatre, video and visual arts).

All artists selected for Artistic Blind Dates will be eligible to receive Creative Community Fund grants of up to $750. See CCF information below for details.
